Thanks for Your Support: Two Architect-Designed Homes Fundraiser for Global MS Awareness Day

Purchasing a $25 ticket online allowed ticketholders to get a peek inside the two homes inspiring Brooklyn homes, which are a short 15 minute walk apart.

People touring the homes were very enthusiastic about getting the opportunity to look inside the outstanding designer homes. 

This project has been initiated by Micah Rickards, architect of the multi-award-winning Walker Box and Person with MS, as a way to support his local MS Society. Read more about Micah's three story home at https://www.micah.co.nz/walkerbox.

Micah said "it was heartwarming to see such a large crowd turn out for the open homes. The generosity of the community was incredible, and the vibe incredibly positive! Couldn't have made it happen without the help of Max and Rhi of Brooklyn Building, AKA Architecture, who generously opened their home (and helped with the flyer drop!) and the Wellington MS Society who got behind it!".

Wellington MS President Steve McCloskey said "The event was even more successful than I had hoped and such a great occasion for raising both some much-needed funding for, and awareness of, the service we provide to people with and affected by MS. Thank you Micah, for initiating this fundraiser and your huge contribution to its success!"

The Open Homes were held on World MS Awareness Day 2026 to raise awareness and raised $4325 funds to support the Wellington MS free mobile Community Advisory Service.

Each Open Home had the architect and owners available for questions.
