Wishing You a Wonderful Festive Season

We hope 2025 has been a wonderful year for you and your family, and that we've been able to offer an additional layer of support, to enable you to live your best life.

Please look after yourself over the busy festive and holiday season, and make sure you protect yourself - including from the sun or heat when you need to.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays and very best wishes for the New Year.

The Community Advisor Service

We will continue to operate a By-Request Service over the holiday season, although we will be closed on statutory holidays so our team can take a well earned rest. Please get in touch if we can help in any way.

Charities Reregistration - Online Meeting

Legislative changes require that we re-register as a society before March next year. To allow us to do that, we've been revising our rules and constitution and need to hold a Special General Meeting for members to:

  • Agree to the new constitution
  • Agree to re-register.

The meeting will be held online via Microsoft Teams and the date for the meeting is Saturday 13th December 2025, 10.00am (online).

Please look out for full information and the Teams invitation in your inbox. If you are not able to attend online we are happy for you to cast your vote by email, with email votes accepted until 12 noon Monday 15th December 2025.

Grant Funding Update

Every year we work hard to apply for grants to help fund our vital service and our regular funders are especially important.

A special thank you to the Thomas G Macarthy Charitable Trust, which continues to fund our vital Community Advisor service in a very challenging fundraising environment.

MS Awareness Week Collection Update

This year's collection raised an amazing $10,019 towards our vital free, mobile Community Advisor. A special thank you to all who supported the week especially our Collectors and site organisers, the owners of our collecting sites and all those who donated or supported the campaign in some way.

Share your thoughts about the Collection

The Collection gets harder each year as collectors become harder to find and fewer people carry cash. We'd love to take the collection online, but its not worked well enough to replace the street collection for most of the regional MS societies. We try hard to make sure our collectors are well looked after too, but if there has been a problem then we would like to know.

If you would like to share your thoughts about the collection we would love to hear them. You can drop an email to: info@wellingtonms.org.nz
