Well known Wairarapa personality Rachelle McIntyre launched her first book on Saturday 6 April, with plenty of support from family and friends, including her two (now grown-up) sons who inspired the book.

Rachelle has been nurturing the dream of writing the book for many years. To accommodate Rachelle's impairments, the text for the book was dictated to her friend, fellow author and ex-WMS Community Advisor Shona Daubé, who also arranged publication through her company Pink Cottage Publishing.

The children's book is brimming with beautiful, bright illustrations by Greytown artist Janet Atkinson, another former WMS Community Advisor.

The book was beautifully printed by the Rimutaka Prison Printshop. The first print-run was supported by a small one-off grant from Wellington MS.
